Private PDF tools, run in your own browser
FreeEditPDF gives you a free, private way to edit and merge PDFs. Everything runs on your device, so your files never leave your browser.
Why it is private
When you open a PDF, the document is read and processed locally on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and you do not need an account. Your files are loaded into memory or stored in your browser's own file system, and they never leave your device.
How it works
FreeEditPDF uses two open-source libraries that run entirely in the browser. PDF.js renders the document on screen, and pdf-lib reads and writes the PDF bytes. Together they handle rendering, editing, and export with no server in the middle.
What you can do
- Edit existing PDF text, add text, highlights, and images.
- Rotate, reorder, and delete pages.
- Cover text or whiteout sensitive content.
- Combine several PDF files into one with the merge tool.
